Question:

How do I know if my child’s behavior is a manifestation of their disability?

Answer:

Under Maryland State law, if your child’s behavior at school is a result of their disability, the IEP team must meet within 10 school days of any disciplinary action to determine if the behavior is linked to the disability. If the behavior is found to be related to the disability, the school must provide appropriate services during any removal or placement change.
