Question:

What happens if the school sends my child home early?

Answer:

If your child is sent home early from school in Maryland, the school must complete a process within 10 school days. If there are delays, your child should be allowed to return to school unless there is a serious threat. The superintendent must notify you and provide reasons if your child is not allowed back. If there is an extended suspension or expulsion, you have the right to appeal to the local board within 10 days. The school must provide reasons for any denial of reentry.
