Maryland School Discipline Law: Requesting Behavior Evaluation
Question:
How do I request an evaluation for my child’s behavior?
Answer:
To request an evaluation of your child’s behavior in accordance with Maryland school law, you can file a formal complaint with the Maryland State Department of Education. This complaint must be made in writing and should include as much detail as possible about the rights you believe were violated. The Department has 60 days to investigate your complaint and issue a ‘Letter of Finding’ if a violation is found.
